Biography

Prof. Huang received the B.S. degree in math and the M.S. degree in communications engineering from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chengdu, in 2005 and 2008, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Texas A&M University, College Station, TX, USA, in 2012. From 2012 to 2013, he was with Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ, USA, as a postdoctoral research fellow, and then promoted to an assistant research professor from 2013 to 2014. He was also a visiting scholar with the National University of Singapore and a research associate with Princeton University.

Since March 2020, he has joined the Future Network of Intelligence Institute and the School of Science and Engineering, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. He won the NSFC fund for Excellent Young Scholars (国家优秀青年基金) in 2020, and was selected into the National Overseas High-level Young Talents Program in 2016.

His research interests are wireless communication, signal processing, and application of artificial intelligence in wireless systems.

He has published two books, one book chapter, and more than 100 papers, including more than 50 journal papers. He has undertaken projects such as the Natural Science Foundation and the Joint Fund of the Ministry of Education, with a total amount of over 10 million RMB, and relevant achievements have been applied in major national events. He has been serving as the editor for IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, Journal of Communications and Information Networks, and IEEE Access. He is a senior member of China Communications Association and was a secretary of member development sub-committee of IEEE Asia Pacific Communications Association and a member of student Competition Committee of IEEE Communications Association. He also served as the symposium chair of IEEE GLOBECOM 2019 and IEEE ICCC 2019/2020/2022. He was invited to give academic report in many international famous wireless communication conference.


Research

I have a wide range of interests in artificial intelligence, information theory, communication theory and their applications in various networks. My current research focuses on the following topics: 

(1) Large model and network AI   

(2) Semantic information processing and communications

(3) Digital twin for communication and logistics networks
