Biography

Dr. Hu Ke is a Lecturer in Translation Studies at the School of Humanities and Social Science, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen). He holds an M.A. and a Ph.D. in Translation Studies from the University of Melbourne, Australia, and is a certified senior translator by the Australian National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI).


Dr. Hu's research focuses on language and translation technologies (large language models, neural-network machine translation, & translation memory systems), text mining and natural language processing, corpus linguistics, computational linguistics, AI-enhanced language education (AI literacy, human-computer interaction, & prompt engineering), and digital humanities.


Dr. Hu has obtained grants as a PI (Principal Investigator) from the Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Commission Fundamental Research Fund, and has participated in two Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery Projects. His work has been published in several top journals in humanities and social sciences including Target (SSCI-indexed) and Political Geography (SSCI-indexed), as well as top academic conferences in Linguistics including AAAL. Dr. Hu has also won the Best Paper Award at the 8th Asia-Pacific Forum of Translation and Intercultural Studies and was named to the Dean's Honour List of the Faculty of Arts at The University of Melbourne.
