Biography

Dr. Tianyuan Li is an Associate Professor in Applied Psychology at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Peking University, majoring both biological science and psychology. She then continued to study psychology and obtained her PhD degree from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Before moving to CUHK(Shenzhen), she worked at the Department of Psychology, The Education University of Hong Kong for nine years.

 

Dr. Li’s research interest lies at the intersection of life-span development and interpersonal relationships. She studies age differences in social and interpersonal domains, and how intimate relationships and intergenerational relationships influence the well-being for people of varying ages. She is also interested in different marital goals and proposes the dynamic goal theory of marital satisfaction.

 

Dr. Li has published widely at a range of top academic journals in psychology and gerontology with more than 1,600 citations and an h-index of 15. She is an Associate Editor for the journal Current Research in Behavioral Sciences, an Advisory Editor for Family Process, and a topic and review editor for Frontiers in Psychology. Her work was covered by local and international media, such as Sing Tao Daily and Psychology Today. She has also served as the reviewer for 48 international academic journals, including British Journal of Psychology, Communication Research, Journal of Personality, Journals of Gerontology: Psychological Sciences, Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, and Psychology & Aging.
