Matthew is currently a lecturer in both English for Academic Purposes (year one programme) and Spanish Language in the School of Humanities and Social Science at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. He obtained his master’s degree in Translation Studies at Cardiff University, UK, for which he was awarded the final grade of Distinction.

Matthew is originally from the UK, though his ten years of teaching experience span the UK, Mexico and China, where he has worked at various higher education institutions.

In addition to teaching, Matthew has also worked for four years in a freelance capacity as a Spanish-to-English translator. Prior to his appointment at CUHK, Shenzhen, he lived in southern Mexico for ten years.
