Biography

Ms Zhang ping was an elite volleyball athlete, and have presented to the China National Team between 2002-2006. She has won a few major championships for the national team, including the 2003 FIVB Volleyball World Cup and the gold medal in the 31st Olympic Games in Athens, 2004. After retiring from elite sports at a world-class level, She came back to school and studied a BEd in Physical Education and Sports Science, and a MA in Sports Studies, both from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Since 2017, she has worked as a lecturer in physical education at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen). Her main duties are to teach sports science and physical education undergraduate students and to conduct research related to sports sciences. 

She attended the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Annual Convention in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the United States of America in December 2019 and the Chinese Swiss International Sports Arbitration Online Forum in March 2020, and presented an article title “An athlete personal experience and perspective of anti-doping” in the society’s official journal, The Journal of Swiss Chinese Law Review (Issue 1, Page 43).
