Biography

Dong Liu currently works as an Assistant Professor at the School of Humanities and Social Science, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. Dong conducts research in geospatial analytics, environmental health, mobility, and socio-spatial inequality. His work has been published in prominent journals such as Urban Forestry & Urban Greening, Social Science & Medicine, Computers, Environment and Urban Systems, Health & Place, Journal of Transport Geography, Environmental Research, and Annals of the American Association of Geographers, among others. 


Dong currently serves as the Steering Commission Member & Secretary for the International Geographical Union (IGU) Transport and Geography Commission, Associate Editor for The International Encyclopedia of Geography of The American Association of Geographers, and Editorial Board member for the Journal of Transport Geography. 


Dong has worked on projects funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Public Health Agency of Canada, and Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. Additionally, he has led projects as both Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator funded by the Hong Kong Research Grants Council, Guangdong Basic and Applied Basic Research Fund, and Research Committee Direct Grant for Research at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
