PhD student recruitment

Dr. Min Zhang is a Professor at the School of Science and Engineering, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. She is currently recruiting 2-3 fully funded PhD students. We welcome applicants with a strong interest and certain background in fields of microelectronic and nanoelectronic devices and circuits, including but not limited to two-dimensional materials and interfaces/devices, nanoelectronics, thin-film transistors (TFTs), flexible and wearable electronics, neuromorphic electronics, bioelectronics, and advanced displays. We are looking for enthusiastic, open-minded individuals with a spirit of exploration. Ideal candidate should possess the capability of independent research, innovative thinking, and strong teamwork spirit. He/She should be passionate on research, eager to embrace challenges, and willing to explore unknown fields. Interested applicants should send a self-introduction, CV, transcripts for all degrees beyond undergraduate, TOEFL or IELTS score, and referee contact information to mzhang@cuhk.edu.cn.

Our research mainly includes,

1.Two-dimensional (2D)/low-dimensional (LD) materials, interfaces, and devices

    1)CVD growth, transfer, and characterization of 2D/LD materials;

    2)Fabrication and characterization of van der Waals heterojunctions;

    3)Fabrication and modulation of gate dielectric- and metal-semiconductor contact interfaces.

2. Flexible and stretchable devices, circuits and system integration

    1)Design and develop flexible and stretchable thin-film transistors and circuits based on carbon nanotube, metal oxide, or 2D material channels;

    2)Investigate hardware implementation of flexible and stretchable neural network computing;

    3)Investigate flexible and stretchable sensors;

    4)Investigate the system application scenarios of soft electronics on artificial intelligence, especially on E-skin of robots and wearable electronics.

3.Biosensors based on TFTs

    1)Develop high-performance TFT biosensors for health monitoring and disease diagnosis;

    2)Explore the innovative application scenarios of biosensors.
