Appointed as Head of the Division of Applied Psychology, School of Humanities and Social Science, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, China. In this leadership role, I have implemented the following programs and activities: (a) (a) Prepared an Applied Psychology Handbook for communication, informational sharing, and publicity, (b) Organized a Brown Bag Presentation Series for faculty and their labs to share research methods (twice monthly), (c) Coordinated the Division’s Invited Lecture Series. Also created a Youtube Channel for the Division from these invited lectures, (d) Conducted strategic planning and succession planning at the Divisional Retreat. Our meeting resulted in our selecting our strategic focus on “Becoming a leader in AI Psychology in China”. (e) Co-Chaired the Search Committee for the senior faculty hire in Applied Psychology. This included online and in-person visits of three candidates, (d) With my high citation scores, helped the Applied Psychology Division to be ranked number 3 in research impact in Psychology in China (Shanghai Rankings)
Established the Shanghai-MSU Research Consortium on Career and Work Psychology. The Consortium was established to promote collaborative research and educational exchanges between MSU’s Organizational Psychology program and Shanghai Normal University as well as 4 other universities in Shanghai (Fudan University, Shanghai JiaoTong University, Tongji University, and East China Normal University). The main activity is an Annual Symposium which alternates between MSU and Shanghai. The Consortium will also be launching the Journal of Chinese Career and Work Psychology (to be published by the American Psychological Association) to support it is research activities and dissemination.

Established 4 Book series and served as Editor: Sage Publications Series on Racial and Ethnic Minority Psychology, APA Division 45 Series on Culture, Race and Ethnicity in Psychology; MSU Symposium on Multicultural Psychology, and the Cambridge Handbook Series on Applied Psychology.
Founded the Asian American Journal of Psychology and served as its first Editor. The journal received an impact factor of 1.73 after only 3 years of publications. The Journal was distributed to members of the Asian Pacific American Congressional Caucus.
Served as the inaugural Chair of the International Affairs Committee and established the International Domain for APA Division 29 (Society for the Advancement of Psychotherapy) (2016-2020). As International Domain Representative, established international awards within the Society and initiated a program of presentations at international psychology conferences and congresses to increase networking and exchange with psychotherapy colleagues around the world: World Congress of Psychotherapy (Paris), International Congress of Applied Psychology (Montreal), Interamerican Congress of Psychology (Cuba), International Congress of Psychology (Prague).
Founded Division 16 (Counseling Psychology) in the International Association of Applied Psychology (IAAP) and served as its first President. The Division has its own programming at the International Congress of Applied Psychology and gives out the Distinguished Award for International Advancement of Counseling Psychology.
Developed and served as the Course Director for the APA Advanced Training Institute on Research Methods for Diverse Racial and Ethnic Groups for 14 years (2008-2021). This program has trained over 400 participants. This annual contract ranges from $18,000-$21,000 for each Institute and a total funding of $260,000.
Initiated the Publication program for the International Test Commission while serving on the executive council. This program included the ITC International Handbook of Testing and Assessment (Oxford) as well as the book series (Cambridge) now edited by Neal Schmitt.
Established the MSU Symposium on Multicultural Psychology which is a biennial invitational conference. It includes a contract with APA Books to publish the volumes from these conferences: Conducting Multinational Organizational Research, Occupational Health Disparities among Racial and Ethnic Minorities, Clinical Psychology of Ethnic Minorities, Multicultural Teams.
Established two endowments for the Consortium for Multicultural Psychology Research: (a) Annual Distinguished Lecture on Multicultural Psychology ($50,000) and (b) Joseph L. White Award for Outstanding Student Multicultural Research Award (with a contribution from Dr. White, $25,000).
Initiated new Awards for various Associations: (a) Early Career and Lifetime Achievement Award as well as the Fellows program for the Asian American Psychological Association, (b) The Henry Tomes Award for the Council of National Psychological Associations for the Advancement of Ethnic Minority Interests, (c) Dalmas Taylor and James Jones Award for the APA Minority Fellowship Program, (d) Distinguished Award for the International Advancement of Counseling Psychology from Division 16 (Counseling Psychology) of the International Association of Applied Psychology (IAAP), (e) Derald Wing Sue Award for Distinguished Contributions to Multicultural Counseling, APA Division 17 (Counseling), and (f) Distinguished Award for International Advancement of Psychotherapy, APA Division 29 (Psychotherapy)
