Tin Lun Lam, Senior Member of IEEE, serves as Assistant Professor and Executive Deputy Director of Robotics & AI Lab of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzen. He received his B.Eng. Degree with First Class Honors and Ph.D. Degree in Robotics and Automation from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2006 and 2010, respectively. Prof. Lam’s research focuses on the areas of soft robotics, multi-robot systems, and human-robot coordination. He has extensive experience in the development of robotic and automation systems. Numbers of his research outcomes also featured in numerous popular media outlets including Reuters, Discovery Channel, Forbes, Wired, and IEEE Spectrum. Based on his research, he has been granted over 50 patents, published 2 monographs, 6 international journal papers, over 30 international conference papers in top tier international journals and conference proceedings in robotics and automation such as TRO, JFR, T-MECH, ICRA, and IROS. One of the journal papers was received an IEEE/ASME T-MECH Best Paper Award in 2011.
